Assembly Foreman

DUTIES

  • Directly supervise and coordinate activities of the production workers.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production and company goals.
  • Coach, train and instruct employees on proper techniques and methods to produce compliant products.
  • Interpret blueprint travelers and work instructions to accurately direct production workers.

  • Blueprint reading with a full understanding of how to assemble what is described on the prints.

  • Understand manufacturing routings, BOM’s, production schedules.
  • Understand basic ac and dc electrical systems with various voltages.
  • Understand light manufacturing and assembly techniques.
  • Basic supervisory and management techniques.
  • Minor electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Involvement with basic quality management systems, ISO preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 to 5 years of experience supervising a light assembly operation, preferably with some electrical components and wiring.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate factory employees.
  • Custom make-to-order manufacturing environment experience.
  • Experience aiding design engineers with “how to” convert concepts to products.

Assembly Line Worker

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and sub-assemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies.

Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Research for new products, components, designs and technology in related fields
  • Convert product concepts to product designs, often with limited information and outside input
  • Prepare submission drawings
  • 3D Modeling-must be completely effective utilizing modeling for design

  • Mock-up design and drawings

Fabrication Foreman

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Set up personnel with jobs for the day
  • Check for all required materials
  • Work closely with Engineering on new and modified jobs
  • Fabricate and assemble all first piece fixture samples
  • Prioritize travelers by due date
  • Program laser and punch when necessary
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings for engineering and production
  • Proficient in operating all fabrication processes
  • Set up all production drawings when released to shop
  • Use Shoptech E2 to collect labor data from shop and monitor
  • Work with Production Control Manager on material requirements
  • Work with Operations Manager and Assembly Foreman to utilize the manpower available to keep the fabrication department continuously running with little to no downtime

Duties included but not limited to:

  • Programming parts in Delcam/Featurecam; setting up HAAS VF3
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  •  Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock.
  • Programs mills including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry; providing part programs.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample workpieces; adhering to International standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting. Including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, trouble shooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
